Canora’s 2025 municipal tax rate is 8.79 mills with a base tax of $1,276 on all property.
Canora has implemented mill rate factors of .87 for residential property, 2.3 for commercial and .67 for agricultural property.
To obtain the total tax rate, the municipal rate must be added to the Good Spirit School Division rates.
An example to calculate municipal taxes (does not include school portion):
A residential property’s taxable assessed value is $60,000.
Municipal portion of taxes is $1,734.84 (1,276 + 60,000 x 8.79 / 1000 x .87)
A commercial property’s taxable assessed value is $100,000
Municipal portion of taxes is $3,297.70 (1,276 + 100,000 x 8.79 / 1000 x 2.3)
