Welcome to Canora.

A town well-known for its hospitality, Canora is truly a full-service community, offering first-rate recreational facilities, tourism activities and economic possibilities.

With a complete range of health care and education services, Canora was named one of the top 10 places in Canada to retire by CARP magazine. Whether you are starting out, winding down your career, or anywhere in between, this is the perfect place for you to raise a family or retire.

Our community has a fantastic water supply. Judged to have “the best-tasting municipal water in Canada”, Town of Canora shares this precious commodity with a rural pipeline board that delivers our top-notch water to neighbouring farms, villages and resort properties. The way in which the Town cares for its well field has also earned a Saskatchewan Municipal award for environmental stewardship.

Located in the “heart of good spirit country”, Canora offers you the best of both worlds, located minutes away from both the amenities of the city or the breathtaking landscapes of the great outdoors. Surrounded by several lakes, rivers and provincial parks, Canora is the ideal gateway to some terrific snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, golfing, quadding, boating and more.

According to Saskatchewan Health, our population has grown to 2,754. To ensure the community is ready for the future, work is under way to develop a new residential subdivision that backs on to the golf course. Recently, conceptual plans have also indicated that Canora can begin looking forward to a new integrated health care facility.

Offering a low cost of living and a booming small-business sector, the town has seen six new business starts in the past year. There is not a vacant commercial property on our Main Street, which is a welcome indication of our prosperity and hopefully a sign of more good things to come!

With its abundance of community spirit and friendly atmosphere, you don’t have to be a lifelong resident to feel safe and at home in our neat, attractive rural town. The quality of life in Canora makes this a great place and I’m proud to call it “home”.

As you browse this website, please keep in mind that it provides only the highlights of our great community. If you would like more information, feel free to contact us, or better yet, visit Canora in person.

There really is something here for everyone.
